First off I love this cover!! It totally fit into the story and that thrilled me. Witches and a totally hot Logan really pulled me into this story. I love the idea of a budding romance between Triss and Logan, who have been friends since childhood. The fact that they have known each other so long and get each other makes the relationship feel more believeable and real. Knowing that Logan moved away but never lost feelings for Triss made my heart flip flop.

I found Lonely Souls to be very addictive. Once I opened the book, I didn't want to put it down. I have a feeling I am going to have another series to add to my favorites list. I think the storyline is very alluring with a mix of dark and light magic. The thin line that divides the two makes for a fascinating read. As with life there is a grey area and I am curious to see if Logan or Triss step over that line and become drawn into the dark magic.

Lonely Souls is a enchanting book that I can't seen to get enough of. I am thrilled that I own book 2, so I can begin reading it immediately after posting my review. I recommend this book for anyone who loves paranormal/romance.

another one of those books I got for free. a story where we see that it isn't always black or white but what you do with the power you have. but it does touch on the slippery path that using power can "black magic" can take you on. overall I really like the book and can't wait to see what happens next.
Our teen-aged daughter wanted this book so we ordered it. She really likes it and is anxious to read the next one in the series. Quite truthfully I have not read it but am just very pleased when I can get our girl to read instead of text on her cell phone. If you have a teen at your house, you would know exactly what I mean. I will buy the next one for her, too.
I enjoyed reading this book. Triss mother's missing, not knowing if she's dead or kidnapped, she won't believe her mom is really gone. Triss has her friend Logan with her as this is going on, he also doesn't think her mom is dead, he secretly loves Triss so he vows to help her find answers. They run into trouble when their coven members try to kill them. They decide to go on the run, but trouble will follow them no matter what.

Logan, Triss's love interest, brings much needed flirtatiousness and comic relief to the story. He also definitely has a hot, swoon worthy look, a bad boy vibe that flirts with darkness, and a charming way of protecting Triss from danger.

The knowledge of herbs, flowers, their healing properties and uses as protective elements was both accurate and informative.

The mysterious disappearance of Triss's mother was intriguing and suggestive, making the reader hunger for the secrets she's surely hiding.

CONS

Triss is extremely annoyingly self-righteous to the point where her character was aggravating.

The love story was too simple, too easy, and really cheesy with big speeches about how love made one discovery one's self and feel all sorts of crazy emotions. Generally, that wouldn't be such a bad thing but it was excessive, so it lost some of its meaning.

The enemy is not scary, sort of boring, and anticlimactic.

The lonely souls were mentioned briefly, showed up a couple of times, but didn't cause much damage. More emphasis should have been placed on these beings if the book it titled after them.

The Witch Avenue coven was barely significant.
Triss is a heroine who will find her lfe drastically changes as event play out in her life a missing mom who is presumed dead by all but her and a childhood friend she has a which coven trying to make her fall in line as her story of magic starts to unfold Logan and her find themselves running from home there coven and everyone they know unable to trust evn the closest to them a fantastic start to a wonderful journey where Triss finds her magic and love and a whole world of evil that begins to hunt her down a must read I love the book and it has had me going on to the nexyt becoming adcted to what will happen next. unexpected twists keep you riveted for sure.
Triss and Logan begin a journey to find her mother. She disappeared on the beach one day, and Triss has no idea where she went. The coven holds a memorial for her mother, even though Triss believes she is still alive . Logan, an old friend, arrives with his mother, and the two of them work hard to find evidence that her mother still lives.

But someone is trying to destroy Triss. She has to officially go through the trials to become part of the coven, and she finally d ok escape. She gains access to the library to search for evidence of her mother's whereabouts. Someone uses dark magic to try to subdue her. Things get really bad when she and Logan are captured. Logan vows to keep Triss safe, as he once played with dark magic himself. He starts to teach her some spells, when they go into hiding. But they never get a break.

Very interesting story. Karice has found a new line of awesome and I am hooked. Can't wait to start the next book.
I was thoroughly surprised by this first book in this YA witch series. Once I started, it was hard to stop, but I had to get some sleep. The story flowed effortlessly off the page, which made reading it so easy. I found the world built by the author, to be satisfying and didn't leave me wanting further details. The main characters were well rounded.

Triss and Logan are the two main characters. Whilst sometimes I wanted to reach through the pages and knock some sense into Triss, she does have some really good qualities about her. I also felt that way about Logan too, because it seems like he tries to hide stuff from Triss. This isn't insta-love in my opinion, since these two have known each other for a very long time. Saying that, they do eventually discover their feelings for each other. This may prove to be a complication when it comes to concentration later on the book.

Overall, a good read I would definitely recommend. It has some exciting parts and some action. There is also, what appears to be, a mystery to be solved, and a twist later in the story.
